Step 6: Validate the final design performance
- Working Model FEA is used to verify the final design. This is done
by simply creating a new mesh with the same element size that was used
in Step 4. This element size is 0.04 in. The results
from this simulation are shown in Figure 11.

These results indicate the maximum stress is about 53 ksi. Further investigation reveals this is a localized stress concentration that can be reduced with fillets.
Further use of Working Model Shape may also be used to design the fillets
or to further reduce material used around the holes.
