Step 4: Validate the design performance
To validate the design created in the previous step, Working Model FEA is used to apply the boundary conditions on the new geometry and create a finite element mesh, as shown in Figure 7. The loads, restraints, and mesh element size are defined in same manner as in Step 1.

The results from the simulation are shown in Figure 8. Note that the maximum stress is about 33 ksi.

Note: To get the actual maximum stress calculated, the Average Values option in the Working Model FEA Results must be turned off. Otherwise, the stress is averaged at each node.
