Support Structure Design Example
This section follows the steps for design optimization to design a support structure.
Step 1: Define the design space and boundary conditions
A supporting structure is needed to transfer an (x,y,z) = (1000,1000,2000) lb load. The part is to be bolted with four 1/2 in bolts. Figure 1 shows the defined design space and boundary conditions.
The part will be manufactured with the Aluminum 2024-T3 material.
